GTA 6 pre-orders are set to drop at midnight local time tonight - and those in Australia already have their copies safely through checkout. That means it's finally go-time on the biggest release of the generation so far, but there are some things you'll need to know before diving into the retailers.

The Standard Edition has been priced up at $79.99 across both PS5 and Xbox Series X, with an additional Ultimate Edition offering up additional vehicles, weapons, and skins for $99.99. Still, the Standard copy still comes with some extra digital goodies; the Vintage Vice City Pack throws us back to the good old days with a whole batch of new-old items. Of course, that's only available for those with a GTA 6 pre-order under their belts.

All that's left to do is set the coffee pot, hunker down until midnight, and get ready to head to checkout. I'm bringing you all the retailers we expect to be carrying GTA 6 pre-orders when the time comes right here, and keeping this page stacked with all the latest updates and stock drops.

Pre-order GTA 6 Standard Edition

GTA 6 Standard Edition comes in at $79.99 in the US, scoring you the game and the pre-order only Vintage Vice City Pack. In my experience, Amazon should be pretty hot off the mark here and is often the retailer with the fastest shipping in the US. Just make sure you can get release day delivery on your physical edition, otherwise opt for release day pickup from Best Buy.

Amazon is also the fastest shipping retailer to watch for GTA 6 pre-orders in the UK, but this is a game release unlike any we've seen in a long time. If physical copies start missing that launch delivery window, Argos may be available for on-the-day collection.

Pre-order GTA 6 Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition follows the same path as the Standard Edition. Amazon is your best bet for speedy release day delivery, but if stock goes crazy those physical discs could start to edge further down the calendar. Best Buy may be offering in-store collection.

While we don't have a price for UK GTA 6 pre-orders just yet, we're just a few hours from the official drop window. That means I'd keep Amazon handy, with Argos on standby for collection.

When will GTA 6 pre-orders drop?

GTA 6 pre-orders are scheduled to go live at midnight local time, so this very evening. I expect most retailers to drop their stock on cue, but others could roll on a little later. It's not uncommon, for example, for Walmart to be a little late out the gate.

How much is a GTA 6 pre-order?

A GTA 6 pre-order will cost $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, a slight uptick in pricing compared to previous releases but far from the $100 - $150 fears circulating the web in recent weeks. We only know about GTA 6 pricing on the US side of things right now, though. Those in the UK will seemingly have to wait until midnight for final figures.

Do you need to pre-order GTA 6?

Pre-orders on games are tricky. Their only real benefit is the exclusive in-game items that often come alongside that early commitment - the days of having to reserve your copy are (hopefully) behind us. I say hopefully, because while it would be wild if GTA 6 pre-order stock got anywhere near low - this is the biggest release in years. In 2026, anything can happen.

What's included in GTA 6 Standard Edition pre-orders?

You're not getting the wad of extra content found in the Ultimate Edition, but the GTA 6 Standard Edition still comes with some bonuses for those who pre-order. The Vintage Vice City Pack harkens back to the original classic, with cosmetic options styling out Lucia and Jason in full '80s garb.

The Tropical Pattern Weapon Skins and 1955 Vapid Stanier are also included for an extra neon flair.

Remember: pre-orders are digital codes in box

That's right, there's no such things as a GTA 6 disk. Which is strange... considering there was such a kerfuffle about Best Buy's "physical" pre-orders a few weeks ago. As it stands, though, this is a digital release with a fancy casing. Is it the best news in the world? No. Unfortunately for us physical game collectors there's nothing to slot into your console here but hey, we do get some colorful plastic...

GTA 6 pre-load begins on November 12, a week before release

Hey, maybe it'll take the full week to download.

All GTA 6 pre-orders will technically be downloads, but if you order via your console's storefront you'll be able to pre-load beginning November 12. That means no waiting for that loading bar as soon as the game goes live, and no holding out for delivery.

It's a tempting prospect and one that makes total sense for digital players, but to have that shiny new GTA 6 case finally on the shelf? That might be too much for me to turn down.
