It's Summer Game Fest time, which means that Microsoft is back for its annual Xbox Games Showcase with plenty of big reveals and sneak peeks... including the new Fable – a title that perhaps stands as one of the most highly anticipated RPGs ever.
That's right – we got a new look at Fable, as well as an actual release date. After facing a delay from Xbox just last month, the game felt further out of reach than ever... but 2027 is truly the year it's coming out, it appears, and there's not too long left to wait.
As per tonight's trailer from Playground Games, Fable is launching next year on February 23. In other words, eight months or so from now.
Not only that, but it'll be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S – and, of course, via Xbox Game Pass. Pre-orders are already open now as well, with an optional (and unsurprisingly more expensive) Premium Edition to boot.
For reference, the standard version appears to cost $69.99 while the Premium Edition is a whopping $99.99. So, a solid hundred bucks – but we do get two special cosmetic outfits, the digital artbook and soundtrack, nine in-game gifts to help us out on our journeys, and post-launch expansion Order of the Hero.
This story is still developing.
Searching for something else to wishlist? Here are the best new games coming this year and beyond to look forward to.
