House of the Dragon season 3 has introduced Ormund Hightower, and fans are loving him already.
In the season premiere, Ormund, played by James Norton, showed up very briefly as leader of the green army. While he hasn't done much just yet, he's already made a big impression with fans.
"Putting all my stock in the Ormund storyline," said one person on Reddit, with another saying: "He's awful, I lov[e] it lol"
"I like that they set him apart with the whole scented perfume thing I wonder if it shows off his pompous nature as Lord of Oldtown or if it's a genuine disability," says someone else – Ormund conspicuously sniffs perfume when a messenger comes to visit.
"I have no clue who he is cause I haven't read the book but this actor nailed the pompous elitist high born facial expressions. It was like a 2 minute scene and I love him and Daeron(?) already," says someone else. A fan theory that Ormund's squire is none other than Daeron Targaryen has sprung up since the episode aired.
"I’m just over the moon to James Norton in Westeros. He’s such an amazing actor and I’m glad to see him in the show," says someone else.
"Was sold on his character as soon as he said 'King, is he now?' and simultaneously made THAT Hoity-Toity face... Definitely here for it …," agrees another fan.
"He's won me over to team green with his smug aura and having Brasso as a pissed off sidekick," says another person, referring to Joplin Sibtain, who played Brasso in Andor.
Ormund is Alicent Hightower's cousin, and, with such a huge army at his back, we wouldn't count him out as the season goes on.
