Sugar is delicious, but it is unhealthy. Once you learn how it threatens your health, you will never look at it the same.
These are the symptoms which show that you are consuming too much sugar and risk to get diabetes:
Fatigue and tiredness
Food that contain lots of sugar in it may give you a boost of energy, but the fall is more like a crash.
If you’re frequently tired, you’re probably having too much sugar.
Foggy brain
Sweet food makes blood sugar in spike and then fall rapidly instead of gradually. If you’re kind of foggy, especially after a meal, you’re probably high on sugar.
Sugar cravings
You may have become a sugar addict if you crave sugary snacks every day. The consumption of sugar is addictive and it can cause a chain reaction of sugar cravings.
Frequent colds and flu
Too much sugar in your diet can make you feel ill more often than usual. High sugar content in your diet can weaken your immune system and make your body’s natural ability to fight colds, flu viruses, and even chronic disease weaker. This can be prevented by avoiding foods with added sugars.
The sweet taste faded
Eating too much sugar will reduce the sensitivity of your taste buds. Once the taste buds get used to sugar, sugary foods won’t feel sweet enough. This makes your body ask for more and more sugar in order to satisfy your carvings.
Skin issues
Sometimes, the first sign of excessive consumption is skin problems: Acne, rosacea, eczema, or even just excessive oiliness or dryness can be a reflection of too much sugar in your body.
Weight gain
Sugar is high in calories and isn’t filling, so it can easily lead to excess calories. Excess sugar intake can also lead to insulin resistance which has been linked to weight gain.
Note that weight gain and insulin resistance can open doors for diseases like type II diabetes.
